Well it will be Easter in no time at all and with four days off of work this means getting together with friends and family. I find friendly get togethers are a fantastic time to have a few cocktails, so here are my pick for the top Easter Cocktails.

Well it will be Easter in no time at all and with four days off of work this means getting together with friends and family.   I find friendly get togethers are a fantastic time to have a few cocktails, so here are my pick for the top Easter Cocktails.

Chocolate Easter Bunny

1 part Baileys (I have recently tried this with the Baileys Caramel and it is delicious!)

1 part Kahlua

Chocolate milk

Shake the Baileys and Kahlua together with ice in a cocktail shaker and strain into a highball glass.   Top up with chocolate milk and serve.

Then you just have to try an Easter Egg Cocktail, just because of it’s name alone!   It also has a delicious flavor.

Easter Egg Cocktail

1 shot blue curacao

1 shot white crème de cacao

half and half

Pour the blue curacao and white crème de cacao into an old fashioned glass and stir together.   Add a few ice cubes and then float half and half on top…….I haven’t said how much half and half because that’s a matter of personal taste.

Easter Bunny

How can you leave the Easter Bunny off of a list like this?   You can’t!  This delicious cocktail is sure to cure any sweet cravings you may have.

1 ½ oz dark crème de cacao

½ oz vodka

1 tsp chocolate syrup

1 tsp cherry brandy

Put the crème de cacao and vodka into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.   Place some ice cubes into an old fashioned glass and strain the alcohol into it.   Next float the chocolate syrup and cherry brandy on the top of the drink.

Now Easter is all about Easter eggs (well not really, but you know what I mean) and so we move onto Advocaat.   For the uninitiated Advocaat is a creamy liqueur made from eggs.   You can’t have a top Easter Cocktails list without at least one Advocaat cocktail in it.

This is my adaptation of a Fluffy Duck and a Snowball.

Fluffy Snowballs

1 part Advocaat

1 part vodka

1 part cream

top up with lemonade

Place the Advocaat, vodka and cream into a cocktail shaker with ice and stir well.   Pour into a hurricane glass and then slowly top up with lemonade.   I say slowly because when the lemonade hits the cream it froths up, hence the ‘fluffy’ part of the name.

To round out my top five Easter Cocktails I am going to go a little nutty.

Choc Nut Martini

30 ml dark crème de cacao

30 ml Kahlua

15 ml Frangelico

30 ml cream

30 ml milk

Place all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.   Strain into a cocktail glass to serve.   In case you’re wondering why I haven’t used half and half in this recipe it’s sheer laziness and you are more than welcome to.   I didn’t have any half and half at home when I whipped this up for my mom and I was too lazy to mix up some of my own so I used cream and milk!!!

I have found another great list of Easter Cocktails here and if, like me you think that Easter is all about chocolate then you may want to check out Chocolate Cocktails.
