If you ever wanted to obtain an autograph from your favorite NHL PLAYER it may be easier than you think. Some players, not all, accommodate their fans by responding to fan mail and sign autographs thru the mail. I have provided a "How to" on how I do it:

Step 1: (Supplies)
Gather the supplies you will need to send out the letter.

2
Step 2: (Who to send a letter to and obtaining a mailing address)
It is really up to you on who you want to send a letter to. Who is you favorite team or player? Once you have decided on who send to do a little research on their signing habits. A great resource for mailing addresses is the website sportscollectors.net or similar website. Also to send a letter to the players team just go to NHL.COM and the teams addresses are listed on the websites for each team.
These sites and others are great resources for addresses and other information about the player. SPORTSCOLLECTORS.NET and similar sites are updated by fellow collectors with up to date information. 3 Step 3: (letter writing)
Write a sincere letter to the player you are interested in. Do a little research to learn about the player you are writing to.
Include a little information about yourself and include why you are interested in getting their autograph.
Ask questions that you are interested in getting an answer to. Sometimes the celebrity will take the time to answer your questions as well.
A little hint, the words “please” and “thank you” will greatly improve your chances of getting an autograph from the celebrity. 4 Step 4: (Envelopes)
Address the first envelope with the players mailing address you are sending to. Add your return address in the upper left corner. Place first class stamp on the envelope.

Address the second envelope with your return mailing address. This envelope is called the S.A.S.E (self addressed stamped envelope). The celebrity will need this envelope to send back their autograph to you. Put the players mailing address in the upper left hand corner. Place a first class stamp on the envelope.

Put the letter, the S.A.S.E and 2 Index cards inside of the first envelope and seal the outgoing envelope.

You can also send larger or other items to be signed. Just make sure you use the proper size envelopes and adjust the postage accordingly. 5 Keep a record of who you mailed it to, when you mailed it and what you mailed out.

The letter is now ready to be mailed!
