One of the top errors that business leaders make is for them to be so consumed with achieving results that they do not then ensure that all their people are having fun along the way. As a business leader, you might be thinking that fun is important, but it cannot be the overriding factor in terms of achieving results.

As a business leader, you might be thinking that fun is important, but it cannot be the overriding factor in terms of achieving results.

Having fun is what keeps employee morale high and inspires people to consistently work to common objectives.

There is a big difference between highly successful business leaders and those business leaders who are working incredibly hard, but not achieving the results.

The days where all employees simply wait to see what the manager tells them to do, does not produce the results that are recognized by a fully involved team. The leaders maybe having fun, but their subordinates certainly are not.

Today’s vibrant business world demands too much for one person to micro manage their team.

The highly successful business leader will facilitate, encourage and participate with their team members to achieve team results.

Having fun along the way will support the involvement of each team member. When the whole team feels fully involved and a part of the process, then every team member takes personal pride in achieving the results.

We all have talented people working for us, and as effective business leaders we need to create an environment where every employee feels that they are empowered, and understands what is expected of them.

For me the definition of fun is, working in an environment where people are challenged, where they learn new skills, where they grow, they are continuously looking for advancement, are willing to take risks and they often will ask forgiveness, but not always for permission.

People with those traits really make an organization grow; those people succeed and reap the rewards and always consistently achieve results.

They are having fun because they are making a real difference and an important contribution, they simply do not allow themselves to settle for anything else. They want to experience being involved, because being involved is fun.
