Ohio Church-Encouraging Suicide or Prayer?

Dec 3rd, 2010
The controversial church sign in Ohio USA that tries to use humor to entice church goers, ignorant twist in the eyes of the community.

"Honk if you love Jesus, Text while driving if you want to meet him"

Stonebridge Church of God, located in Findlay, OH has recently received more recognition than they initially planned for.

The church recently updated their outside sign board to read "Honk if you love Jesus, Text while driving if you want to meet him" The church only intended humor when putting up the caption, but members of the community don't find it as funny.

Current media awareness on texting while driving, the new laws present to Canadian drivers who now face fines while texting and driving, has been weighing on all the minds who read the Church's message. Everyday it is pounded into the minds of people everywhere how dangerous it is to text while behind the wheel, meanwhile in an attempt of humor, in a backwards sort of way the church sends out a message that if you really would like to meet Jesus, text while driving and die, an indirect form of suicide in an attempt of vision. That is not the pure intent of the message on the board, but to some, it is the only message.

The Ohio based Church has recently changed their message.
