Fantasy Baseball-Keeper Rankings-2011 (21-50)

Nov 27th, 2010
Over the next couple of weeks, I will cover my top 200 keepers in fantasy baseball. I assess my keeper value based on what I expect from a player over the next three seasons (60% for next year, 30% for 2012 and 10% for 2013). I have also provided each players age in parenthesis.

- Josh Johnson, SP Marlins (27) Johnson sometimes doesn't get the attention he deserves but he is one of the best pitchers in baseball

- Jon Lester, SP Red Sox (27) Lester continues to improve every year and looks to have a Cy Young or two in his future

- Adrian Gonzalez, 1b Padres (28) Biggest question with Adrian is where will he be taking his swings after next year?

- Josh Hamilton, OF Rangers (29) If you get 150 games from Hamilton, you will be very satisfied

- Ryan Zimmerman, 3b Nationals (26) Flying under the radar behind Longo and Wright, Zimmerman is not far behind numbers wise

- Justin Verlander, SP Tigers (28) Reliable and dependable number 1b or 2a fantasy starter

- Ubaldo Jiminez, SP Rockies (27) Which Ubaldo shows up in 2011- the first half guy or the second half guy?

- Prince Fielder, 1b Brewers (26) I think I know two things about Prince, he is not as good as his owners made him out to be in 2009 and he is not as bad as he looked in 2010

- Alex Rodriguez, 3b Yankees (35) Age has dropped ARod down a lot, when healthy, he is still one of the most reliable fantasy bats around

- Cliff Lee, SP Free Agent (32) Wherever Lee plays next year, he will be a solid number two fantasy starter

- Matt Holliday, OF Cardinals (31) The most consistent outfielder in the majors

- David Price, SP Rays (25) Young ace who can still get better

- Dustin Pedroia, 2b Red Sox (27) If Pedroia can stay healthy, he could be the number two guy at a thin position

- Clayton Kershaw, SP Dodgers (23) in 2010 we finally began to see more consistency from Kershaw who has been dubbed a future fantasy ace for a few years now

- Ryan Howard, 1b Phillies (31) Howard can still dominate, however, he does not look like a player who will age well

- Jose Reyes, SS Mets (27) Injuries have certainly limited Reyes the past couple of years, he still has the ability to be a great short stop for years to come

- C.C. Sabathia, SP Yankees (30) It is questionable how well CC will age in his 30's. If he holds up well, he should make a solid second starter

- Francisco Liriano, SP Twins (27) Liriano is back and when he is locating, he is a top flight fantasy pitcher

- Andrew McCutchen, OF Pirates (24) If the power continues to develop, McCutchen could approach Crawford's level in a few years

- Matt Cain, SP Giants (26) I expect a huge season from Cain after the playoff run he had in 2010

- Alex Rios, OF White Sox (30) Can Rios put together consecutive strong seasons?

-Jerred Weaver, SP Angels (28) In a lost season for the Angels, Weaver quietly put together his strongest year yet

- Joakim Soria, RP Royals (26) The best closer in baseball is just entering his prime

- Jason Heyward, OF Braves (21) The batting eye that Heyward showed in his rookie year is as impressive as anything else

- Justin Morneau, 1b Twins (29) When healthy, Morneau is one of the games most under-rated first basemen. However, his fantasy owners know that staying healthy can be a problem for him

- Mat Latos, SP Padres (23) Latos exploded onto the scene in 2010, until fatigue set in the final month, look for him to continue to approach fantasy ace level

- Nelson Cruz, OF Rangers (30) in 2010, Cruz proved to be much more than a one year wonder

- Delmon Young, OF Twins (25) In 2010 fantasy owners finally gave up on Young, by the end of the year, we were in love again

- Brandon Phillips, 2b Reds (29) At a thin position, Phillips is one of the most dependable stars

- Shin Soo-Choo, OF Indians (28) 20-20 threat who can hit 300, Choo helped win a lot of leagues last September

I have played both fantasy baseball and football for over 10 years. About 7 years ago, I got into my first keeper league and I have been obsessed with that ever since. I hope to provide good information for other owners who play in keeper leagues. I…
