1. Greater Adjutant (Leptoptilos dubius)

Tall, large and long bill, long legs, and hairless long neck, do you think you think this peculiar-looking winged-creature

can't scare you? This wild bird is regarded as the heaviest species of stork - the Greater Adjutant, a large bird that can

be found in Assam and Cambodia migrates to Vietnam, Thailand and Burma during winter. The Greater Adjutant is an

extraordinary large bird, typically 145-150 cm (57-60 in) tall with a 250 cm (99 in) wingspan. You will surely run as fast

as you can once you encountered this creepy bird.

2. Dalmatian Pelican (Pelecanus crispus)

What a large mouth it got? This species of pelican is considered the largest of all pelicans and one of the world's

heaviest flying species. The Dalmatian Pelican is breeds from Europe to Asia in swamps and shallow lakes and its

nest is a crude heap of vegetation. This bird is averaging 170 cm (67 inches) in length, 11-15 kg (24-33 lbs) in weight

and just over 3 m (10 ft) in wingspan. On average, it's the world's heaviest flying species, although large male bustards

and swans can exceed the pelican in maximum weight.

This creepy carnivorous living organism is called the Giant Petrel, a large seabird. There are two species of this large

seabird, the Southern Giant Petrel (M. giganteus) and Northern Giant Petrel (M. halli). The two species are restricted to

the southern hemisphere. Giant petrels are aggressive predators and scavengers, that's why they were also known as,

the Stinker, and the whalers used to call them gluttons.

The Northern Bald Ibis, Hermit Ibis, or Waldrapp is a bird found in barren, semi-desert or rocky habitats. This 70-80 cm

(28-31 in) glossy black ibis has no feathers on its red face and head, and has a long, curved red bill. It breeds colonially

on coastal or mountain cliff ledges, where it lays 2-3 eggs in a stick nest, and feeds on lizards, insects, and other small

animals. This ibis migrates in the south during winter. This species is common in zoos, and there are reintroduction

schemes at a semi-wild breeding colony in Turkey, and at sites in Austria, Spain and northern Morocco.

5. Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus)

The Andean Condor is a scavenger found in South America and is "the largest flying land bird in the Western Hemisphere".

This bird is also one of the world's longest-living birds, with a lifespan of up to 50 years. The Andean Condor is a national

symbol of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.

6. Goliath Heron (Ardea goliath)

This is the largest heron in the world. Just by the name itself, you will really get scared once you encountered this

odd-looking creature. This bird, named Goliath Heron, is a large bird that is found in sub-Saharan Africa, Southwest

and South Asia. The height is 120-152 cm (47-60 in), the wingspan is 185-230 cm (73-91 in) and the weight is

4-5 kg (8.8-11 lbs).

7. Jabiru (Jabiru mycteria)

This creepy-looking bird is the tallest flying bird in the Americas. It is as almost as tall as the American Rhea. The

Jabiru is a large stork found in the Americas. The name comes from the Tupi Guarani language and means "swollen

neck". It has a beak of up to 30 cm or 1 ft long. The adult Jabiru is typically 122-140 cm (48-55 in), 230-280 cm (90-111 in)

across the wings, and weigh to 8 kg (17.6 lbs). The larger males may stand as tall as 1.5 m (5 feet).

With those long-bill and scary-looking neck, you can never really have a good night sleep once you see this kind of bird.

Formerly known as Wood Ibis, although it is not really an Ibis, it is now called Wood Stork, a large American bird. The adult

is a large bird 83-115 cm (33-45 in) tall and 140-180 cm (58-71 in) in wingspan. Males typically weigh 2.5-3.3 kg

(5.5-7.3 lbs); females weigh 2.0-2.8kg (4.4-6.2 lbs), although large birds are up to 4.5 kg (10 lbs).

9. Bare Throated Tiger Heron (Tigrisoma mexicanum)

The Bare-throated Tiger Heron is a bird found from Mexico to Columbia and is 80 cm (28-32") in length and weighs

1,200 g. This large species waits often motionless for suitable prey such as fish, frogs or crabs to come within reach

of its long bill. This is a solitary breeder.

10. Abyssinian Ground-hornbill (Bucorvus abyssinicus)

These birds with unusual physical feature can live 35-40 years in captivity, it is called the Abyssinian Ground-hornbill

or Northern Ground-hornbill, an African bird, found north of the equator. They are diurnal and diet in the wild consists

of a wide variety of small vertebrates and invertebrates, including tortoises, lizards, spiders, beetles, and caterpillars;

also takes carrion, some fruits, seeds, and groundnuts.

11. Black-and-White-casqued Hornbill (Bycanistes subcylindricus)

You will surely feel afraid once you encounter this bizarre-looking creature with large head and bill. Also known as

Grey-cheeked Hornbill, it is a large, about 70 cm long, black and white hornbill. It has an over-sized blackish bill

with large casque on top. They inhabit equatorial Africa and their diet consists mainly of figs, fruits, insects and small

animals found in the trees.

12. Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus)

This creature seems to be capable of swallowing a human being. Although the Australian Pelican is smaller compared

to the Dalmatian Pelican, its pale, pinkish bill is enormous, even by pelican standards, and is "the largest bill in the avian

world". The record-sized bill was 49 cm (19.5 in) long. The Australian Pelican is a large water bird, found in Australia, New

Zealand, New Guinea, Fiji and Indonesia.

13. Trumpeter Hornbill (Bycanistes bucinator)

This weird-looking bird that can be found in countries of Africa is called the Trumpeter Hornbill, a not-so-large

hornbill. It's a gregarious bird, usually living in groups of 2 to 5 individuals, although sometimes as many as 50.

It feeds on fruits and large insects.
