Why Do Taller Men have Lower Risk of Heart Disease!!

This is a medical fact according to Dr. D. Parker, ScD, assistant professor (research) at Brown University. Read more. . . .

Men over five-feet, 10 inches have an 80% lower risk of heart disease than men under five-feet, five-inches. Possible reasons:

Poor childhood nutrition, or prenatal nutrition, may stunt growth and affect adult health. Also, arteries in the hearts of shorter people are narrower, possibly increasing blockage risk.

Short men should focus on controllable risks, smoking, blood pressure, exercise, diet, and weight. Results were inconclusive for shorter women, but they should be similarly cautious.

The average height is around five-feet, nine inches for men, and five-feet, four inches for women.

Here's a little more information that I think my readers should have. Taking an aspirin during, or very soon after a heart attack reduces the risk of death significantly. A study was conducted of more than 17,000 patients worldwide and found that those who tood aspirin within 24 hours of the first symptoms were 23% less likely to die from a heart attack than those who did not.

When aspirin was taken along with the clot-dissolving drug streptokinase, found that the death rate dropped by 42%. It is believed that aspirin prevents production of prostaglandins, substances that encourage blood to clot. Blood clots can block vessels that carry vital oxygen to the damaged heart.
