How to Store Your Ear Buds Correctly
Simple method for safely storing your new ear buds.
Whether you have noise canceling ear buds or not doesn't matter. Ear buds are expensive and during my commute on the New York City subway, I always see people wrap their ear buds around their ipod when they are done listening, or worse just throw their ear buds straight into their bag. Both of these methods usually result in tangled cords, and tangled cords always result in broken ear buds. Have you ever had a pair where one of the ear buds just stopped working? This is probably due to the fact that you are storing them incorrectly. This can be an expensive habit since noise canceling ear buds can cost hundreds of dollars. Keep reading to find the simple method for safely storing your new noise canceling ear buds.

Instructions
Step1 After you are done with your noise canceling ear buds, if you are right handed, extend the index finger, middle finger and ring finger of your left hand. Use your thumb to hold the plug end of your ear buds to your three extended fingers.Step2 Use your right hand to gently wrap the cord of your ear buds around your three extended fingers. If you wrap too tightly, you might damage the cord, so take it easy.
Step3
When you are finished winding up the chord, you can slide the coil off of your fingers and store the ear buds. It is best to store them in a small case that is about the size of the coil. Something like a tic tac box would work well. If you don't have a case handy, in a pinch, you could wrap the plug end of the cord around the middle of the coil a few times, pass it through the top loop, and pull gently; however, this method is not preferred.

Tips & Warnings
- If you don't have noise canceling ear buds, you should look into them, they are a little expensive, but they are great at drowning out external noise.
- Any strong pull on your ear buds, runs the risk of damaging them.
