How to Print a Picture on a T-Shirt

Printing your own picture on a T-shirt used to be an expensive and troublesome process. However, cafepress.com is a website that makes it easy to print one t-shirt at a time, or print hundreds of t-shirts with a design of your choosing.

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:
  • A computer
  • A digital image that you would like to print on a t-shirt
Step1 Go to cafepress.com (the link is in the Resources section below) and click the "sign in" button in the upper left hand side of the screen. You will have to sign up for an account in order to buy use the website, but it is free to sign up, and you can opt out of receiving promotional e-mails. Follow the instructions to activate your account.
Step2 Once your account is set up, click on the link that says "create custom t-shirs and more." On this page you have many different choices of items that you can create. But we are making T-shirts, so select "Clothing and Hats," and pick out the style of t-shirt that you would like to print.
Step3 On the next page click "Create It," and it will take you to a form that asks which images you would like to use on your shirt. Click "Add a New Image" and browse your hard drive or the internet for the image that you would like to print on a T-shirt. The form gives you the option to print on the front and/or the back of the T-shirt. Once you select the image that you would like to print, it asks how big you would like the image to be and where you would like to print the image on the T-shirt. Once you click "Review and Order" it will ask you which size T-shirt you would like to buy. They accept all major credit cards.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cafepress also gives you the option to print your image on mugs, clocks, mouse pads, etc. these can all make great gifts!
  • You can also set up your own online store at Cafepress to sell the merchandise that you design.
  • Make sure not to use a copyrighted image on your T-shirt.
