Free Antivirus etc: ISP lies

I am tired of looking for suitable Antivirus programs (free), and have found most of the one who say they are FREE mean you can download it for fee but to have to actual program, it will cost you, - or you get the ones who say you have to complete and join two of the
ad they specify, which also lead to asking you for monry, So back to Google I go and try again, I find this very time wasting, AND it helps to build up my download quota with my ISP - which brings me onto that, when I joined to 24 months, I was told it had 'unlimited' downloads, now one year into it, I was informed I only have so much, then will and are charged for more,as they have changed their billing due to the 'economy' - nothing i can do about it as Im locked into a contract for 24 months arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

I find the whole thing very annoying, especially when I dont have the time or patience to look at ever item my search brings - I also

found the same with free music programs, thank good ness I finally found one, after putting a post on the site I frequent, but it shouldnt

be like this, especially when there are older people out there who virtually know nothing about the net - must be very confusing.

What does everyone else think??????
