Do you have a child or know someone who is graduating from high school? Here are some gift ideas.

High School Graduation is a milestone and a very special time for every young man or young lady. You want to commemorate the event with a special gift, or gesture whether it's your own child graduating or someone else's.

When selecting a gift, keep the graduate's personality and tastes in mind. The gift can be simple and inexpensive or something more elaborate. Either way, the graduate will be appreciative of your gesture.

Gifts for the graduate who is your son or daughter

* a nice dinner to celebrate after graduation with family and friends is sure to please. The dinner could be at your home or at a restaurant with reservations. Each guest could bring a small gift as recognition of the graduate's accomplishment.

* a digital camera would be a very nice gift. It's something that can be taken anywhere and capture events and wonderful moments. The graduate is sure to be pleased with a camera all their own and it's something that will last a long time.

* if the graduate is going off to college, an engraved pen would make a nice and personal gift. Every time they use it, they will be reminded of Mom and Dad. Any engraved item is a lasting keepsake that's sure to please. Young ladies especially, like engraved jewelry.

* money is always appreciated since the graduate is venturing into a new world and will have a lot of expenses

* a cell phone is nice to be able to keep in touch with friends and family if they are going away to college

* a mini vacation would give the graduate a break from the years it took to achieve this accomplishment. The vacation doesn't have to be elaborate, but something relaxing and fun.

* open a savings account. If the graduate doesn't already have a savings account, getting one started will encourage them to start saving for the future.

Gifts for the graduate who is outside of your family

* money is always appreciated, along with an inspirational card

* gift cards work well because the graduate can buy what they need or want and you never have to worry about the item being returned or unused

* prepaid phone cards. If the graduate is going away and doesn't have a cell phone, prepaid phone cards will come in very hand to keep in touch with family and friends.

* a framed picture of the graduate's graduation ceremony. This is a gift that will last a lifetime and be cherished.

* a Bible would make a nice gift, if they don't already have one of their own

* tickets to an upcoming concert would be a fun gift for the graduate

* a magazine subscription or a few books in the area that interests the graduate

Graduating from high school is a milestone in a young person's life. It's a milestone to celebrate, especially if the graduate is family. This is a moment to be recognized and remembered!
