How to Use Friendster's Windows XP Upload Wizard
for photos bigger than 2MB, friendster let's us use their Windows XP Upload Wizard..so how do you get it? how do you use it? click here and read on! :D
I have been using friendster since high school, and although it has lost its popularity (due to other growing social networking websites such as multiply, facebook, and myspace) I still find it very helpful when “distributing” pictures to all of my friends. Since, they all have an account there. :D
But for pictures bigger than 2MB, friendster let’s us use Windows XP Upload Wizard. And things will get a lot tricky if you don’t know how to use it. It’s simple really. Just follow the steps below! ;)
STEP 1:
You’ll have to download the installer. Go to your homepage, click “Upload Photos” from My Tools and you’ll be taken to a page with a box at the right hand side saying “Upload Tools”. Click “Windows XP Upload Wizard” and when a dialogue box appears click “Open”. If you’re using Firefox you’ll need to right click and save as the link.
STEP 2:
Installation. After opening the downloaded file, a dialogue box will appear headed “Registry Editor” saying “Are you sure you want to add the information in C:\ … to the registry?”. Click “Yes”.
Another dialogue box will appear saying “Information in C:\... has been successfully entered into the registry.” Click “OK”.
STEP 3:
You can now upload those pictures! Go to the folder where those photos are and from the left hand side of the window under “File and Folder Tasks” click “Publish the selected items to the Web”.
The Web Publishing Wizard will then appear. Click “Next” and follow the instructions provided by the wizard.
And that’s it! Easy peasy! :D
You can also resize your pictures using the Wizard. Hope that has enlightened a few. ;)
