How to Earn Money Working From Home Without Being Taken by Scams

More and more people are looking for ways to earn money working from home, but don't want to be taken by scams. Many people believe that paying for information about working at home means it's a scam, but that's not always the case.  So how can you know if it's a scam and what can you do to make money working from home?

Paying for information about a work at home business or how to make money working at home isn't always a scam, but rather is usually paying for the information, just as you might buy a book or ebook. The price of this normally would be the price you might expect to pay for any book (around $25), and in general shouldn't go over $50 (that's the high end).

A work at home offer that's much higher priced should have something that you are getting for that price, such as CDs, DVDs, videos, a kit, etc.  In other words, you should be getting something for your money.  If the offer is all fluff and nothing to deliver, pass it up.  Paying over $50 for simply information is more than likely a scam, and it's likely you are being taken.

If you find a work at home offer that you feel strongly about pursuing, do some research online for reviews of the offer. Usually when someone has been scammed, there are reports about it online.  Do your research before spending your hard earned money on something that might be a work at home scam.

There are a few work at home ideas that can make you money working at home and you don't have to worry about scams. Some ideas are: Freelance writing, pet sitting, house sitting, making and selling craft items, sewing, resume writing, secretarial services for local businesses, house cleaning, tutoring, growing and selling plants, web design, graphic design, take photos and sell, greeting card writing, blogging, home day care, home organizing, home decorating, make and sell furniture, gift baskets, baking, and wedding organizer. There are countless other ways to make money working at home, these are just a few ideas.

Keep receipts for any money you spend and any money you make.  Don't go spend a ton of money on working at home items.  Use what you already have and start out buying only what you absolutely need, then use the money you make to buy more materials or enhance what you have.  But remember that you are working at home to earn an income not to spend all you make on working at home. 

If a work at home offer sounds too good to be true, run the other way.  Chances are if it sounds too good to be legit, it's probably a scam.  You don't have to spend a lot of money to start working at home or to have a work from home business!
