Ciao.co.uk is a British based website that deals mainly with products and services found in Britain. The website has been running for quite a few years now and has lots of members who regularly contribute to the site and make it a bustling little community will lots of opinion and debate.

The site is not always the best when it comes to layout. It can take a while to get used to navigating around the site and finding out exactly how things work. However once you get the hang of it is it pretty easy to use and everything is easy to find. You have an area where it tells you about how much you have earned and if you have had any recent payments. There is a stats page where you can see what kind of ratings you are receiving and giving out. There is a message board where people can get in contact with you and a few other bits and pieces.

The pay structure of the site is quite complicated. Each product or service has a different rating. You don’t get paid a set amount for writing a review, you get paid for every member who reads and rates your review. Depending upon which category you write in you can either earn 2p per read, 1p or 0.5p. Although if you are the first to write on a subject this doubles. Then there is the mysterious Premium Fund. If you article is of a very high standard then you may be awarded part of this fund at the end of the month. There is no definite rule but it’s thought you either receive £2.50, £5, £10 or even £15 for a review, but these have to be of a very high standard.

Each review gets rated by the websites members. There are five different ratings you can give, the top rating being exceptional, however you can only give out 7 of these per day, so these only go to the best reviews. An exceptional rating also nominates a review for the Premium Fund, so the more E’s a review gets the more it will be awarded from the fund.

One of the good things about this site is the community. There are many regular users on here who all chat away to each other and rate each others work. This is both good and bad at the same time. It’s nice to get feedback on your work but at the same time it means if you want to earn and get rated you have to be constantly rating other peoples reviews. This can sometimes be a pain.
