This is an article in a series on how to read the Tarot Cards. This series contains an in depth look at each of the cards' possible interpretations within a reading in context of their position. I will be using the Celtic Cross spread.
The Emperor On His Own
The Emperor on his own is a card of worldly wisdom. The Emperor is a man who has conquered the world both on the fields of battle and in business. He is often depicted seated on his throne with a scepter in his hand, overlooking his vast kingdom.
The Emperor is a card suggesting a person who is most at home when challenges are in front of him. He likes to tackle and complete tasks which directly bring him rewards. He can set long range goal, and has no problems with the patience he needs in order to achieve them.
1. The Emperor as the Center
The Emperor ad the Center suggests the situation is well structured and a lot of planning has gone into it. The structure and strength of the situation can be seen plainly by outsiders, and often times are used as examples for success.
2. The Emperor as the Obstacle
The Emperor as the Obstacle suggest the receiver is too tied down to his plan of action to see other, and often times better, options available to him. Adding a bit of flexibility for changes in the course of this plan will alleviate this.
3. The Emperor as the Super-Conscious
The Emperor as the Super-Conscious suggests the receiver feels confident in his abilities to achieve the desired outcome in the situation. He has a great passion for what he's doing, and will not be easily swayed by unnecessary distractions.
4. The Emperor as the Recent Future
The Emperor as the Resent Future suggests the receiver has made the most of the situation he is currently in and has planned for the best. It is on it's way to him as long as he stays on the path he is currently on.
5. The Emperor as the Subconscious
The Emperor as the Subconscious suggests the receiver has put a lot of thought into the situation and he is developing a plan of action to move forward with. This plan has a high chance of success if he sticks with it.
6. The Emperor as the Recent Past
The Emperor as the Recent Past suggest the receiver has spent a lot of time planning for this situation, and it is from this planning and hard work that this situation has come about.
7. The Emperor as the Receiver
The Emperor as the Receiver suggests the receiver is a strong willed person who enjoys working with his hands. He can be very physical, but also takes the time to carefully plan projects he plans on tackling.
8. The Emperor as the Influence
The Emperor as the Influence suggests the receiver has a structured home life that works for him. The family unit is ready for any sort of problem that comes their way, and has delegated tasks (whether officially or not) assigned to each member for solving these issues.
9. The Emperor as the Intuition
The Emperor as the Intuition suggests the receiver has put a lot of careful thought into the possible outcome of the situation, and is confident he will achieve his goal. He should keep on this path.
10. The Emperor as the Outcome
The Emperor as the Outcome suggests the situation will end the way it was planned to end. All the proper planning has been made and a success is the most likely outcome.
