Dress Like Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl

Oct 20th, 2010 by JoJoGal

No-one on television is more preppy and Upper East Side than Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl. Learn how you too can look preppy and polish and Upper East Sideish like her.

Blair Waldorf, played by cute Leighton Meester, has quickly become one of the top fashion icons for many girls. Her polished Upper East Side-outfits are the envy of many, and actually not that easy to copy on a smaller budget, but there are ways to get some of Blair Waldorf’s style on a budget too!

1. Always make sure everything in your outfit matches. And I mean everything! Shoes, nailpolish, hair clips… everything!

2. Always keep your hair, skin, hands, nails and toes in perfect condition. Being polished is not only about your outfit, it is very much about your body too.

3. Boho-chic and anything with a bohemian flair is not for Blair. Stay away! (The same goes for anything distressed)

4. Blair always wears either dresses or skirts, so ban pants from your wardrobe. Don’t be ashamed of being a girl!

5. All the pieces you buy should be classic, as well as tailored (or at least tailored-looking!) and timeless. Remember that Blair’s ultimate fashion icon is Audrey Hepburn and use that as inspiration. It is quite possible to find classic, tailored items on a budget too, but you need to know what you are looking for, since most pieces in the cheaper store are not.

6. Blair likes the classic colors, white, black, grey, brown, but she adds some fun color to make the outfit pop from time to time. But don’t add too many colors, or you will end up looking like Vanessa Abrams instead!

7. Laces, bows, ruffles and anything girly is always welcome in Blair’s world. But only use one girly item at a time, or you will over-do it!

8. Look at lots of pictures of Blair online, in order to get an idea of Blair Waldorf’s style in general, as well as ideas for specific outfits. It’s not only useful; it is a lot of fun too!
