Preparing a Car for sale

So you have decided to sell your car! Now I bet you are wondering just what to do now, first of all, before pictures can be taken and it can be shown to people, you will need to detail it. Detailing your car can help ensure that you get the most out of your car, potentional buyers will not want to buy a car that needs a lot of cleaning and prep work. To detail your car, you will need:

• Q-Tips
• Window Wash
• Paper Towel
• Garage Vacuum or access to a car wash vacuum
• Leather Cleaner if you have leather seats
• And car dash wipes

You can begin by washing the exterior of your car, when you do this depending on the price range and car, some buyers may expect the rims to be shiny and the car to be waxed. Waxing your car may not be done if it is to cold, and it is not recommended to put tire spray on your tires if it is rainy or wet out, of if there is snow or ice on the roads still. When you go to clean the interior of your car make sure you start with the dash and windows, make sure all the smudges are out. Once you are done with those take Q-tips and get all the debris out of the seams in the dash and vinyl parts. Make sure the gauges and buttons are clean, as well as all of your storage compartments, now would be the time to empty the car out of personal items. After you are done cleaning the dash and windows, take the vacuum and clean under the seats, in the storage compartments, the floors, and the seats. Be sure not to leave crumbs or hairs laying around. A well presented car can be the difference between selling it for the price you would like, or having to make a serious cut off of the asking price. Once you are done vacuuming, your personal items are out of the car, the windows and dash are clean, it is time to add a mild air freshener. When choosing an air freshener remember that to much, will also turn people away. 

Once you put the air freshener your car should be very clean and ready to present to a potential buyer and photograph for ads.
