Are you seeing red because someone cut you off in traffic or the line at the grocery store?...Read this touching short story that will make you think twice before taking your anger out on someone else. Then let God show you how He feels and teach you the consequences of anger through these tried and true Bible verses.

I think we've all been there. You're angry or upset because you've had a bad day and lose your temper with someone and maybe go a little further then you needed to...either with sarcasm, raising your voice, yelling, cursing, you get the idea. Sometimes the person you took it out on is just an innocent by stander.

For example: "Annie" the cashier at your local grocery store. You see her there almost every time you do your shopping. Poor girl who just happens to be doing her job a little slower then usual because she had a "bad day" too. You see Annie received a phone call early that morning from her mother. Annie's mother, whom she loves dearly is terminally ill. She wouldn't even make it to see Annie's birthday three months from now. All Annie wanted to do was just go see her mother, but she couldn't. Annie has two small children at home and cannot afford to lose a days pay, or worse get fired. She doesn't even know how she is going to make the rent this month. So she has no choice but to finish her shift.

Well by the time you finally get up there you've had plenty of time to sit and stew! She has made you late for your appointment. You are going to let her know that and a few more things that you've thought up along the way! You are so angry you look her in the eye and...well only you can finish this sentence.

You never know what is going on in the people's lives around you. Their problems might not be anywhere near as bad as yours, but then again...maybe they are even worse! I have put together bible verses that I hope will help you and touch your heart.

Colossians 3:15-17
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. "

ROMANS-12:19-21
"Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but [rather] give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. Therefore If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

Ephesians-4:26, 27
"Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil."

Ephesians-4:31,32
"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."

Psalm-37:8
"Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret--it only causes harm."

Proverbs-14:16,17
"A wise man fears and departs from evil, But a fool rages and is self-confident. A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, And a man of wicked intentions is hated."

Proverbs-29:22
"An angry man stirs up strife, And a furious man abounds in transgression."

Ecclesiastes-7:9

"Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools."

James-1:19,20
"So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."

Psalm- 145:8
"The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy."
