  • Blank invitations and fine writing pen

Step1 There are three inexpensive ways to create beautiful but inexpensive wedding stationery. These are 1) handwritten invitations on blank cardstock or designer cardstock with blank areas for wedding information, 2) wedding-patterned invitation printer cardstock which can printed on any computer with simple software to create a printer-look quality invitation and 3) inexpensive stationery printed by an inexpensive wedding stationery company.
Step2 The least expensive alternative for wedding stationery is handwritten invitations. These invitations can be written on anything from casual notecards to professionally designed wedding stationery available at your local card or stationery store. Some simple have blank lines for you to insert your name, date and time of wedding. Others are completely blank you to let your imagination fly free - nothing is off limit! Use a good quality ink or felt-tip pen and consider using a calligrapher or friend with good handwriting to help you.
Step3 Your second option is to print your own invitations with your computer printer using pre-printed wedding printer stock, available at your local stationery or office supply store. The beauty of this method is the freedom of different font styles and professional-looking results without the expense of printing.
Step4 And, finally, your third option is the tried-and-true wedding stationery store. Although the most expensive, there are now "budget" websites for printed invitations which are more inexpensive than the old-fashioned engraved invitation while giving you the most flexibility, the most options, and on some websites, you can even view and print a sample of your invitation with your own wording and design so you can see a first-hand sample before you order.
