"You do not have appropriate access privileges" fix for OSX mac platforms

Quick Fix for "You do not have appropriate access privileges" error when updating Software on Mac OSX

When i got my macbook i was on OSX 10.5.2 and when i updated to 10.5.5 everything went super smooth, except for the fact that i couldn't play diablo II on my macbook cause of my X3100 chipset. So when i found out that there was a new update to 10.5.6 i got really pumped hoping that there is a fix for my favorite game.

When i tried to Update my Macbook OSX 10.5.5 to 10.5.6. i kept getting the error "You do not have appropriate access privileges", then it would send my update to the trash or something like that.

I thought the problem was that i kept putting my admin password in wrong. Then i tried changing the password, i also tried restarting.  then i tried reformatting. I thought i would be stuck with a non-updated OSX forever.  Then i did the Obvious thing to do, i researched it on google.

so after i  searched around the net and found that the fix was:

Go into -> Macintosh HD/Library/Updates/

Then delete all the files inside.

Then restart your update!

AND THAT'S IT! HAHA! i went through all that trouble and it was such a simple fix! i should of known it was simple because mac OS's are so user friendly!

This should work for other updates too not just OSX updates!

This method worked for me, and i hope it works for you!
