Pleated drapes are the classy alternative to window dressings and are as easy to hang as they are beautiful to look at. Don't be intimidated by the hooks-just a few steps and you'll be hanging them with the pros!

Things You’ll Need:

  • Pleated drapes
  • Enough drapery pin hooks or quick-hooks for each pleat, as well as at least two extra for the ends and center.

Step1

Drapery pin hook

Lay drapes out flat on a clean, flat surface like a bed with the liner/back facing up.

Step2

Drapery quick hook

At each pinch-pleat, insert either a pin hook or a quick hook.
- For pin hooks, slide the sharp pin point up and under the stitches in the pleat until the pin point in completed hidden in fabric and only the hook end is visible.
- For quick hooks, slide the double-prong teeth around either side of the pleat up and high until the teeth are around both sides of the pleat and the bottom of the hook is at the bottom of the pleat, with only the hook end protruding.

Step3

For drapes which will be attached to the wall drapery brackets, insert a hook on either end of the drapes as well.

Step4

For drapes which will be joined in the center, such as double pleated panels which will not be on a draw/traverse rod, use a quick hook to connect both panels at the middle.

Step5

To mount drapes, insert each hook over the rod or into the rod drapery holes. For rods with anchor holes on each end, insert the last hook on each end through the rod holes to secure.
