Great jobs for 14 year-olds may seem hard to come by, but there are actually lots of options. Many stores and corporations will not hire someone until they are at least 16 or 18 years of age, so what is a14 year-old to do for some extra spending money? By this age, kids usually want some extra spending money for the mall or to hang out with their friends, and in this economy mom and dad might not have the change to spare. Fortunately, there are lots of options in terms of jobs for 14 year-olds.

One obvious option in terms of jobs for 14 year-olds is babysitting. The Red Cross and other organizations hold babysitting classes where kids learn all they need to know to start babysitting and get a certificate of completion at the end of class. In the process they usually learn CPR and first-aid as well, great skills for life in general. One reason babysitting gigs make great jobs for 14 year-olds is because the kid stays in charge of when they do and do not work, along with who they do and do not work for. Babysitting can be a great opportunity for building entrepreneurial skills that can be used later in life.

Another great option for jobs for 14 year-olds is yard work or snow shoveling. This is an especially great option if you live in a neighborhood where there are elderly people who have trouble doing these things for themselves. They may also need some general help around the house with light cleaning or meal preparation. People are often willing to pay for a little bit of help and it makes such a big difference in their day to day lives.

Finally, some other jobs for 14 year-olds might involve skills that the teenager has developed. For instance, someone who is a computer genius could help people with their computer problems. Someone who knows how to play an instrument very well might offer beginning music lessons. Another teen might be good at arts and crafts and sell some of their products. The key to great jobs for 14 year-olds is creativity. Let your imagination run wild and know that the sky is the limit!
