Minnesota is known for extreme weather most of year, when it finally does warm up it makes you thankful for spring. The word spring has significant meaning for Minnesotans. I would have to believe Minnesotans are the most thankful human beings in the world. From October through most of March sometimes, April outdoor activities are not a good idea. Then something amazing happens in April you have to turn on the air conditioning the reason it goes from thirty to seventy in a matter of weeks and the extreme change in temperature causes most people including me to sweat. All winter your body is acclimated to nasty wind chills and amazing snowstorms then it is suddenly hot. Spring bring a variety of weirdness from Minnesotans first when it breaks forty everyone is in shorts and tee shirts. It seems like everyone comes out of hibernation. You have no idea how good the sun feels after not having it for months at a time. The thing I love most about spring is the smell, everything smells fresh and new. Everything is alive with hope and love. The days grow longer and nights are spent relaxing on porches talking about what old man winter left behind knowing he will come again sooner then we want.
