Sometimes, a conversation face-to-face can be awful, especially if you have no interest in what the other party is saying or talking about. We've all experienced such things, and sought for ways to simply escape from it all! Learn how you can politely end a conversation that you find no interest in.

Step 1

If you are talking to someone over the phone, learn how you can politely end a conversation. For example, if you are talking with a friend who just won't seem to shut his or her mouth, simply tell them that you have a headache and have to go. How about your friend trying to bring up some irrelevant conversation with you? Simply tell them that you have to finish up on some things and that you have got to go!

Step2
If you pick up a phone call asking for a favor, your excuse can be that you do not feel comfortable with it, and that you have to go. Let them know that you'll talk to them soon, and hang up. This is a simple yet easy way to end a conversation politely.
Step3
If you are having a conversation with an annoying boyfriend or girlfriend, let them know that you will call them later because you are having a bad headache. Tell them that you miss and love them, and hang up. Remember to reassure the caller that you still respect them. By giving your callers with a positive refrain, they will feel like they have importance in your life, instead of just trying to avoid them.
Step4
Learn how you can politely end a conversation if you are talking with a person face to face. The most common uncomfortable situation arises when someone comes up to you asking if you can lend them something you do not want to, go go off with the relationship gibberish.
Step5
The best thing you can do here is to be honest and get it out. Do not offer to help if you do not want to. The bottom is to not lie, because a friend will probably catch you, and this is more rude than ending a conversation rudely. Make sure to use positive reinforcements such as giving them a hug, smile or even a "let's talk later" to let them know that you do not hate them, and that you just don't want to talk to them anymore.
Step6
If a stranger starts making conversation with you, chances are that you were looking approachable. The safest way to end a conversation politely is to end with a line saying " it was nice talking to you," or even "have a good day!"
Step7
Lastly, remember that sometimes you can't always be polite in ending a conversation. However, you can always send positive reinforcements with verbal cues such as "talk to you later." The most important point is to not lie. Instead, say that you "have to go" because you are a busy person.
