How to Activate At&t Call Forwarding Remotely

Sep 19th, 2010 by Pamela

Activate remote cal forwarding from any phone.

Call forwarding is a feature provided by the service provider to direct calls to your phone number to another telephone number so you never miss a call. Before you can use this service, you must subscribe to it through your phone service provider. The provider will give you an access code that is needed to use the remote call forwarding feature. Once you have your access number, you can remotely activate and deactivate call forwarding.

Things Needed

Remote Access Directory Number

Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Step 1

Use any phone to dial the Remote Access Directory Number that was given to you by your service provider. Listen to the prompts.

Step 2

Enter your seven or 10 digit telephone number that has the remote call forwarding. You will be prompted to enter your PIN, which you set up when you sign up and activated remote access with your provider.

Step 3

Enter the correct code number when prompted. If the phone number receiving the calls forwarded is Venison West & East or SBC, the code is *73. All other providers are code *72.

Step 4

Enter the telephone number that you want your calls forwarded to when prompted. If the service area requires a 1 before the area code and number, include the 1.

Step 5

Wait for the number to be set up. You will be prompted to dial 1 to verify the number set up.

Step 6

Deactivate remote call forwarding by performing steps 1 and 2. Then press #73 when prompted. Press 1 to confirm the deactivation.
