Argument of Good and Evil
Arguments between good and evil prove that there is a God.
The argument from Evil:
“If God were to exist then that being would be a tri-omni being.
If a tri-omni being existed then there would be no evil.
There is evil therefore God does not exist”
This argument is flawed in itself. To contend that there is no God just because evil exists is baseless. The presence or absence of God does not depend on the presence or absence of evil. God, therefore, is present regardless of whether there is or there is no Evil.
As a matter of fact, the presence of evil only makes the presence of God more pronounced. How so? You might ask. This is because the presence of evil in our lives makes us seek God all the more. For instance, if a person goes through pain or suffering, he often seeks God or the comforts offered by God. The person is aware that God can ease up his suffering. Therefore, evil only serves to magnify our longing for God or what is good.
Evil is the state of godlessness or being not good. Evil often affects a person's morality and spirituality. If the person is in an evil state that means he is at odds with God's laws. Man's conscience, which is intrinsic, could determine if he is doing right or wrong. If the man chooses to do evil, the conscience often reminds him of his errors.
Evil then serves its purpose. It is not an end unto itself. It serves to sharpen our longing for God and forces man to search for what is good, true and right. That is why God allows evil or man to experience temptations by the devil so he could exercise his free will and chooses God above all. Our relationship with God, after all, is not forced upon us. It is something we earn and gain through love, faith and free will.
Judeo-Christian God is tri-omni being because it is comprise of God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit. It does not eradicate evil because evil exists due to man's misuse of free will. Evil only proves the fallibility of man. Its presence does not contradict the fact that God does exist but only serves to magnify God's presence.
