Tips on Passing a Breathalyzer Drunk

Sep 7th, 2010 by MsCompton

Drinking and Drivng is a HUGE NO-NO! But we all know there are times when you think you have not had that much and can make it home. You think you are completely capable of getting from point A to point B. And just as you pull on your street you see those bright berries and cheeries. Uhh Ohh.

  1. Take a BIG deep breath in when they ask you to blow.
  2. Mustard Packets. Keep them in your car. Slam as many as you can before the cop gets to your window. But do use caution when doing so. The cop will be more suspicious if he sees you eating mustard. :)
  3. Hyperventilate when breathing into the breathalyzer. This will reduce the numbers significantly giving you the okay to go the rest of the way home.
  4. Put a penny in your mouth right before you have to take the test.
  5. If all else fails REFUSE to take the breathalyzer. REFUSE to go to thier nurse and take a blood test. And lastly REFUSE to do the field sobriety test. This will most definitly get you a ride to the jail house. But once you get there and have to be before the judge. It will be your word against theirs. NO EVIDENCE. And you will most certainly get off the hook.

Now with all this being said. Please do not drink and drive. Not only is your life at stake but also all those who are on the road with you. Please remember there are children in all those cars that you are driving with. Accidents do happen and if you are responsible for the death of someone because you had bad judgement and a good time. You will have to live with that heart ache for the rest of your life. Please be Responsible and call a cab if you have too. The price of the cab is a lot cheaper then the price tag on death. Thank you and please read more of mine.

Martinmrojas: Thank You. Chris: This was an article built off of numerous of peoples expeirence. I would never recommend Drinking and Driving and if they work? I dont know. I have never put myself in the position to try it out. Thank you for your educational comment. It does make sense to try to argue about the inital stop. But it makes more sense to just be responsible for one’s actions. Thank you.

This is a serious article?  I’m a police officer and I can tell you the tips about mustard are bogus.  Years ago, the same rumors floated around about eating peanut butter and putting a penny under your tongue.

In most states, submitting to the test is required (although you actually can refuse).  However, if you are found guilty, many states give stiffer penalties if you refuse because having a DL means you agree to compy and submit. (sometimes called implied consent)  Still, there are some cases it it would be possible for this to be good advice. Just not many.

“NO EVIDENCE”  Hmm.  Most squad cars are equipped with audio/video cameras.

Oh, and in some states you can refuse the PBT (breath test) and go for blood, but blood registers HIGHER than breath.

The PBT tests taken on the road, in most states, only complete probable cause for the officer to make an arrest, but do not hold weight in court.  Generally, you’ll submit to a different breath test, an intoximeter (or intoxilizer) at the PD or Sheriff Office/Jail.

Hey, I’m not actually knocking you or the topic.  I totally get why and how people would want this info.  If I had to face an OWI (or DUI depending on where you live) I’d probably try to get out of it, too. I completely understand why people look for legal loopholes and ways to beat these things, since the penalties are so stiff.  So, I’ll give anyone a real tip:  Rather than trying to challenge whether or not you’ve been drinking and what your blood alcohol content is, try to challenge the reason for the initial traffic stop.  Essentially, claim that the stop should not have occurred, and therefore, everything that happened afterward is inadmissable..  That is where most people beat an OWI.
