a review on Mystery Case Files: Return To Ravenhearst

perhaps the best and the biggest MCF game to date! not the usual light-hearted crime fighting plot (to the point that it becomes nonsense like Huntsville) of the series, Return To Ravenhearst marked a turning point when it shifted to something decidedly deeper, darker and more supernatural.

its a whole new story when they parted from the hidden object focus towards a full-fledged point-and-click adventure.. this time around, you find the things that you will use to solve parts of the mystery and unlock new areas. Like what their tagline says: "You be the detective." and here you truly will be. :)

as for the story, if you thought the case of Ravenhearst Manor was solved when you freed the soul of Emma Ravenhearst from her murderer Charles Dalimar, think again..now Charles' vengeful spirit is on the loose and it's your job as the detective (or because the Queen of England asked you to) to go back to that desolate place and find more answers! After the first puzzle, you will meet Emma's ghost and find out that Emma's soul isn't the only one that is bound to Ravenhearst..

the hidden objects scenes are all well done..

and the famous door puzzles are still as clever and as imaginative as ever!

unlike Madame Fate, there are unlimited hints that reloads while your looking for other clues or just walking around..so you can never really get stuck..that really helped because you will never know where to go or how to solve the locks..

soundtracks really creepy too..i never used the headphones while playing this..it freaks me out.. X'D

really really nice.. :D

Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst really is an amazing achievement..it's not the first game with such gameplay, but it's certainly one of the most polished and challenging..

can't wait for the next one!
