Garlic Potatoes (Cheese - Optional)
A simple recipe for a tasty vegetarian dish / side
This is a favourite dish of mine which is very tasty, enjoy!
You will need
6 Large potatoes
1/2 Garlic bulb (3-4 cloves)
Approx 500ml of Cream (depending on size of bowel)
Salt and Pepper
Cheese (Optional)
A Pyrex dish
Wash and peel your potatoes
Slice the potatoes approx 5 - 7mm in width
Place potatoes in the bowl and layer them on top of one another
Add a pinch of Salt and Pepper
Chop the garlic as finely as you can, the finer the better.
Pour half the cream into another bowl and mix it up well with the garlic (you can turn this dish into garlic & chilli potatoes with some finely diced chillies or chilli powder, add to taste)
Pour the garlic and cream mix over the potatoes in the bowl.
Now pour the rest of the cream over until it just covers the potatoes, this will wash any garlic sitting on the top of the potatoes down into the rest of the dish allowing the flavour to be absorbed into the cream and then into the potatoes.
Place in the oven at 180 C / 355 F for 1hr - 1hr 15 min. If adding cheese add it 5 mins before taking it out.
This dish goes really well with a lasagne or roast beef, but you could probably have it with anything or even on its own.
