Here's What I Think About...the Caylee Anthony Case

Caylee Anthony was a beautiful little girl, and was at the center of a “missing child” case for months before her remains were found, and her own mother charged with murder.

Let me start by saying that all I know about this case is what I read in the media.  I do not know the family personally, and live a few thousand miles away from them.  This article is my opinion on the case, and ONLY MY opinion.  I am a former police detective, so unfortunately I seem to have an opinion on all cases like this, and writing about such cases seems to help me come to terms with it.

Caylee Anthony was a beautiful little girl, and was at the center of a “missing child” case for months before her remains were found.  Because I don’t believe that there’s a person on this planet that doesn’t know the horrible details of this case, I’m not going to reiterate them.  I’ll just start by asking, what kind of a mother would not notify authorities of the disappearance of her four-year-old daughter unless she had been the cause of the little girl’s demise?  Casey Anthony didn’t notify authorities at all…her mother call them after a month of being told ridiculous stories about how her daughter had dropped the child off with a babysitter, and went back to find the babysitter gone, along with the child.  Casey Anthony was, reportedly, conducting her own investigation.

All of the above is just pure horse shit.  Casey Anthony was buying time, hoping the remains of her daughter would never be found, and she could get away with the murder that she most definitely, in my opinion, committed, then proceeded to weave a wild tale in an attempt to throw authorities off and point them in a different direction.

What kind of idiots, I wonder, did Casey Anthony think were capable of believing ANYTHING she said?

If you have small children, stop and think of what you would do if you dropped your daughter off at a babysitter’s house, then went to pick her up, only to find the babysitter gone, along with your child.  Think real hard about it, and I think you’ll find that you are NOT going to decide to not report it, or to conduct your own investigation.  With your heart racing, feeling like it’s about to explode, you are going to flag down the first police officer you see and hysterically explain the situation to him.

Before Caylee’s remains were found, the police already had enough evidence to charge Casey Anthony with the murder, and did so.  She was indicted in October, and the child’s remains weren’t found until a few months later a mere half a mile away from the Anthony home.

How could Casey’s own parents not know how their daughter could be capable of murder?  How could they wait a month before alerting authorities?  Then, after it is proven that their dead grandchild’s body had been in the trunk of their daughter’s car, how could they continue to believe her incapable of such a terrible thing?

Now, it has been reported that Casey Anthony and her mother are writing a book together about the case.  I’m sure we’ll lap it up like a bunch of hungry wolves, just as we do all of the other books written on such horrible cases.  I hope, however, the ending reads that Casey Anthony is awaiting her execution on death row along with the other scum of the earth.

I, quite frankly, don’t even know what to think about the grandparents.
