A list of scientifically sound "cures" for hangovers and the reasons for their curative effects.

Everyone has, at one point in time gone through hangovers and we all know how they affect one. It's not a ncie thing to face the morning after a long and dedicated drinking session. The effects of hangovers include red eyes, blurred vision, headaches, dizziness, and a myriad of other symptoms. I've been asked time and time again the best way to deal with these things, and I've decided to compile a list of scientifically sound ways to cure hangovers.

Eggs
There are a lot of strange remedies out there and this one is one of the few that sound totally weird yet work. Eggs work to give energy to the body after facing such an uphill task as recovering from a hangover. What most people don't know is that eggs contain a chemical called cysteine which is very good for combating the effects of a hangover by neutralizing leftover toxins in the body. It also is a Godsend for your liver.

Bananas
Bananas provide energy as well as a much needed trace element in the diet: Potassium. Since the diuretic effect of the alcohol causes one to lose vital salts in the body, the restorative effect of Bananas comes from their ability to replenish the Potassium in the body.

Water
A lot of water before going to bed after drinking is good for your body on two levels. In addition to countering the degenerative effects of the diuretic property of water (it gives you extra water to extract from the body thereby reducing the way alcohol affects the body), it also serves as a way to flush the alcohol out of the system. It's one of those wonder-cures that everyone ought to know about yet very few people actually do

Fruit Juice
The simple explanation for why this works is that it replenishes the glucose, carbs and sugars that urination removes from the body, allowing the body to approach an almost-normal state of functioning.

Painkillers
Painkillers have been used to kill hangovers as well, but with limited effect. the key lies in what type of painkillers one uses. A lot of painkillers include caffiene and other diuretics int heir ingredients. Since alcohol is already causing you to excrete all the water you have in your body anyway, another diuretic is not a good plan. the only painkillers that truly work are the non-caffienated ones that do NOT contain acetaminophen. That chemical (also used in many modern painkillers) causes liver damage if used constantly, and since normal people tend to have hangovers quite often, it's not such a great idea to include it in one's calculations to cure one's hangovers.

These methods are pretty sure to curb if not completely stop your hangover in its tracks. The only real way to avoid a hangover is to know how much one can drink and respect those boundaries.
