Poetry - Consulting the Senses - Love without sight or sound

How are we influenced by others with regard to relationships, how do we respond to what others might see or say. What would it be like to shut off sight and sound and respond to touch, feel and smell

Consulting the Senses

We cannot be close

Eyes seeing, what others see

Retreating, must keep safe

Ears confirm and I conform

Fashioned by what others might say

At times unkind

Shut out the light

Turn down the sound

Calm, content

Just me, with you

We could be close

You feel so right

Your presence, your being

Intense, just touching

Your hand on mine
