Consulting the Senses
We cannot be close
Eyes seeing, what others see
Retreating, must keep safe
Ears confirm and I conform
Fashioned by what others might say
At times unkind
Shut out the light
Turn down the sound
Calm, content
Just me, with you
We could be close
You feel so right
Your presence, your being
Intense, just touching
Your hand on mine
