Bedroom looking more tired than you do? Duvets can be great options, and at times the most logical solution. They can go right over your existing bedding and are great when you have comforters that are extremely large, have a high content of down feathers or can not be laundered often.
For those who can sew, you can make a fresh change simply by making your own duvets out of two flat sheets that correspond with your bed size. You can make in one large pillow case fashion, or create a slit mid way along the back much the same as pillow shams. Hand stitch some large buttons along the edges for a fresh, contemporary look. Tip: Buy extra sheets to make simple matching drapes and you have a polished look in your room.
Need to replace your dust ruffle? Get a flat sheet one size up from your bed size, take your mattress off, and position it evenly across the box spring.
