This is an in-depth review of the movie Iron Man 2? It will tell you all of the interesting points and the not so good ones as well, so be sure to check it out.

This is the official Iron Man 2 movie review that will be based strictly on my opinion, so be sure to pay attention. Before I go into detail on the specifics of the second Iron Man I'd like to say that, I really enjoyed the first Iron Man despite the fact that the sequel didn't quite match it's success. Robert Downey Jr. was just superb as always as the cocky, sexy, humorous narcisstic billionaire Tony Stark, he just stole the show.

As the Iron Man 2 movie was in the process of starting I was a little nervous that the movie was going to be lame, considering all of the talented actors starring in this movie, it had me thinking that it was going to bomb. I had a feeling that it was going to be quite hard to have efficient screen time or adequacy for all of those actors to apply their roles to this Iron Man movie. I was in fact right by the statement that I had made earlier that it would be hard to do so. I was quite furious as to how small of a role Mickey Rourke's character Whiplash had in the movie. Mickey Rourke was simply great in his role as the evil Ivan Vanko in portraying the maliciousness of his character and just enjoyed every bit of it, I would have given him a larger role than the one he was given, that's what I didn't like about John Favreau's decision on the storyline. When I saw the last action sequence between Mickey Rourke, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle I was thinking to myself that, that couldn't be the end of the fight, are you serious? That was to easy and corny to say the least, it was too short and vague. He wasn't really able to embrace his role as Ivan Vanko only because he didn't get an adequate amount of screen time, it's quite sad considering all of the talent he has as an actor.

One of the major problems I had with the movie Iron Man 2 was the lackadasical attempt of a story line and or the reasoning or motivation behind all of the other characters intent or purpose. For instance Scarlett Johansson plays the role of the "Black Widow", maybe because I never read the Iron Man comics I don't really know too much about her I didn't really understand what the purpose of her character was in regards to the movie. In the very beginning of the movie she's the beautiful vivacious secretary of Tony Stark with no lines to speak of, than in the later moments of the movie she's a heroine on the look out for Whiplash. She beats up some bad guys but it's not quite as fun as Kick Ass's Hit Girl character. Sam Rockwell was also great in his role as Tony Stark's competition and as the sleazy slimeball that he is. It seems as if he embraced his role so much that he had some fun in doing so, it was very believable, he was just great.

Don Cheadle was decent in his role as Rhodes (he wasn't as good as Terrence Howard's version), it felt as if he didn't really have enough character development that it made his character seem rushed and irrevelevant. There's a scene in the movie were it's Tony Stark's birthday and he's completely trashed in his Iron Man suit, destructing anything in his way by shooting at objects being thrown at him. James Rhodes is so fed up with the situation that he goes into Tony Stark's chamber and grabs himself an Iron Man suit, engages in a battle with Tony Stark than leaves wearing the suit. I'm not really sure as to why that happened like as if it happened in the comic book series but I didn't particularly like it. In the movie Iron Man, we see how Tony Stark becomes not only Iron Man the hero but how he comes to learn to use the suit, that it's only him that can use it or operate it. Turns out I was wrong because anyone could use it, since James Rhodes was able to use the suit and operate it as well. There's nothing that tells us on why Rhodes was able to use the suit or what the relationship is between Tony and James besides the fact they were college roommates. To me this is what made the movie appear weak in that sense because there was no evidence or explanation to explan this.
