Pet Lost And Found Signs

Jul 20th, 2010 by Viktoria Carrella

It is very hard to lose a pet, so you must do all that you can to make sure people are on the lookout for his or her return – that means putting up lost pet signs all around your neighborhood. There are a few things you really ought to know before you go through this difficult ordeal.

Lost Pet Signs

Clearly, if you lose your dog or cat, you are going to do whatever it takes to get it back.  Do not try to find shortcuts, but do all that you can to bring your pet home safe.  To begin, design signs that have a clear picture of what your pet looks like.  The picture needs to be in color and as recent as possible. You want people in your neighborhood to recognize and capture your pet if they see it.  That is why the picture needs to be big and clear.

Have the name of your pet on the signs.  If your pet knows its name (which is on your signs), it is more likely to be rescued because people will call that name out.  Also, on your signs, be sure to include the pet's age, gender and species and breed, your phone number, and how long the pet has been missing.  Put up several signs around the neighborhood.  Hopefully you will find some success with your search.

Found Pet Signs

Finding a pet is always a much better occasion.  If you recently noticed a dog or cat in your front yard who looked eerily similar to one you had seen on a lost pet sign, capture it immediately.  The owner is likely on the lookout for the animal and would be very glad to see it returned.  Even if you see a stray pet that is completely unfamiliar to you, you may want to catch it anyway.  There still may be someone looking for it.  Once you have it in your home or yard, start putting up your own signs so that the owner may catch wind of your discovery and come find their lost pet.  Be sure to put on the signs the species, breed, colors and condition of the animal along with where you found it.  Have your phone number and/or home address listed so the owner knows where to go.
