Scientifically speaking there is no cure for Fibromyalgia, but all the symptoms can be overcome one at a time with a proper diet and lots of rest. The human body is meant to heal itself from all diseases when given the proper care, and this includes Fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a crippling disease that may only affect certain areas of the body, but can also affect and cripple the whole body. It is caused by too many toxins that are lodged deep within the body tissues and muscle cells. It is difficult to diagnose simply because of the vast number of symptoms associated with the disease.
The Symptoms
The symptoms of Fibromyalgia are many, and some may experience all of them, while others may only suffer from a few. However, even though the symptoms may be few, they can still become worse and other symptoms may also appear as time goes on. Here are some of the most common symptoms that people suffer from:
Pain and Muscle Pain
The pain may be in one particular area of the body, or it may be widespread over the whole body including the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, back, hips, knees, and ankles. Muscle pain is quite common, and can often result in severe muscle spasms, tingling and burning sensations in the skin.
Headaches are also very common, and can last for days without any relief from them. These can often result in fibro fog, where the brain is unable to concentrate and process new information.
Eye Problems
Many individuals will experience eye problems such as pain, blurred vision, and may be sensitive to bright lights or the sun.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome itself has many symptoms such as bloating, gas, diarrhea or constipation, and when combined with the symptoms of Fibromyalgia they can be overwhelming to the individual.
Insomnia and Fatigue
Insomnia is also a common symptom as most sufferers do not have the right chemicals such as serotonin and melatonin in their brain to help them fall asleep. However, when they do finally fall asleep they are unable to fall into that deep sleep which is needed for proper rest. This ultimately results in chronic fatigue, which may keep the individual from doing the things they love to do most.
Depression
Depression and anxiety may often occur as a result of the physical pain and lack of sleep. The person is unable to continue on with the desired lifestyle and therefore anxiety and depression set in.
