Conserving energy is a great way to contribute to the energy crisis and save some extra money! You don't need to your home inspected, or buy a ton of fancy light bulbs to save some energy...Here are some simple ways to do so!

Step 1 -First thing first, always remember to turn off the lights when your not using them!! It's such a habit for some people. In the daytime, you are getting light from sunshine...turn off the inside lighting! Don't forget to flip the switch off when you leave a room, either!
Step 2 -Cut back on how much water use. Here are some ways:
**Buy paper plates & cups. It's a way easier clean up, and no dish water!

** Choose ONE day to do your laundry. You can get everything done in one day. Washing bigger loads will help you not have to do middle of the week laundry and it saves about 30% on your water bill each month.

** Always check your faucets for leaks and drips. Also, you can buy a tap to put on the inside of your faucet for 5 bucks. It helps lessen the water pressure, and by doing that it saves some water.
Step 3 - Another way to save some energy is to cut off the T.V! It's beautiful outside! Go enjoy nature! Play with your kids, or play with your pets. Start a garden, go for a walk, or just enjoy the sunshine on your porch! It's always nice to get outside for awhile.

Some people use the T.V as a "background noise". Remember to turn it off if your not watching it. Same thing goes with your Desktop Computer! If your not using it, turn it off!
Step 4 -In the summer...instead of cooking large meals, make a salad and a sand which. Not only will you cut back on energy from your stove, but your grocery bill will enjoy the cut!
Step 5 - Inspect your windows. In older houses, some windows have cracks that leak some air. You can buy a huge roll of plastic for about 10 bucks and cover up the inside of your windows.

It'll save about 50% on your heating or a/c bill.
Step 6 - When you do use the heating or air...make sure to leave it on a reasonable, and SET temperature! It can reduce your bill by 20%, and keep it comfortable.
Step 7 -When it's nice out, don't use the heat or A/C, OPEN THE WINDOWS! Enjoy the fresh air and breeze!
Sometimes in the winter, the heating can get pricey and run constantly. A great way to save on both energy and money is to invest in a kerosene heater.

It will heat your room or house and cut down on the heating bill.

I like your insight on saving energy. Another great way to save is to unplug the TV at night to reduce the ghost electricity it uses on standby. Water savings can help save energy as well near 30% of our electricity goes to pumping water in and out of treatment plants so saving water is a big deal.
