Step by Step Instructions on How to make the Best Caramel Macchiato

Made properly, you really should use a glass mug or pint glass for the color gradient effect. And now, the recipe everyone really wants to see when they come here...

**This is not a real Macchiato. Macchiato is actually Italian for "marked with foam". A true macchiato is a shot, or double shot of espresso, with a layer of foam on top. A starbuck's caramel macchiato is more of a reverse latte with vanilla and caramel. Just so you know.

Things you will need

Espresso Machine, Milk, Espresso, Vanilla Syrup and your favorite Caramel Sauce.

How to make a Hot 16oz Caramel Macchiato

1.  Put in 3 pumps of Vanilla Syrup in the Bottom of your Cup.

2.  Steam your desired milk to approximately 160 degrees.  Make sure while steaming milk to produce foam.  (The best way to produce foam is to place steam wand in the top portion of the milk.  Keep the steam wand in this position until your theromoter reaches 100 and then plunge steam wand in milk until temp is approx 160).

3. While your are steaming milk pull two 1 ounce shots of espresso.

4.  Pour milk in cup and leave 1/4 inch of room at top of cup.

5.  Place two tablespoons full of foam on milk.

6.  Pour espresso shots on top of foam.

7.  Drizzle foam with Caramel sauce.

8.  Enjoy!

How to Make an Iced Caramel Macchiato

1.  Put 3 pumps Vanilla in a Cup.

2.  Fill Cup Half way with Milk.

3.  Pull two 1 ounce shots of espresso.

4.  Put Ice in Cup and leave 1/4 inch of room from top of cup.

5.  Pour two shots of espresso on top of cup.  (Do Not Stir Drink)

6.  Drizzle ice with Caramel Sauce

7.  Enjoy!
