Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Benchmarking

Hi fellas, here are some great games used to benchmark ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 and they do look great. So let’s cut the chat and get to the main point. Games included - GTA IV, Dirt 2, Mass Effect 2 and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.

Hi fellas, here are some great games used to benchmark ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 and they do look great. So let’s cut the chat and get to the main point.

1. Rainbow 6 Vegas 2

This is a really cool game with wonderful graphical effects. I would like to tell you in advance that when we use Fraps to record the gameplay (Click on the link that is given below this article to watch videos), the frames really drop by 50%. That’s why I am going to provide you both values, i.e. with Fraps (while recording) and without Fraps (without recording).

Fraps recorded 10-18 FPS while I was recording the game simultaneously and I must tell you that the game stuttered a lot while I was doing that. But while I was not recording the game, Fraps recorded 25-30 FPS at maximum settings and the game ran as smooth as it should for an enjoyable gameplay.

2. GTA IV

This game has been infamous for being not-optimized for PC gaming and several ‘patches’ were released by Rockstar to fix multiple issues. That’s why; this game has to be in the list of ‘benchmarking games’.

So, Fraps recorded 25+ FPS when I was not recording the game. The game ran quite smoothly until I ran across multiple graphical environment, i.e. several bomb explosions, heavy traffic accidents, multiple killing in the game (just for fun), etc.

Fraps recorded 10-15 FPS when I was recording the game. As you can see it is the same as Rainbow 6 Vegas 2’s FPS while recording the game. At some point FPS value would drop to as low as 5 FPS and that’s unacceptable. But the nice part is, no gamer would record the game while playing it if it causes stutters in game.

3. Mass Effect 2

Another great game to test a mid-range ATI mobility Radeon graphics card. It played really well with 35+ FPS without Fraps (not recording, just don’t want to say same thing over and over again) and 20+ with Fraps. Everything looked cool and I had no problems in any corner of the game.

4. Dirt 2

At last, Colin McRae’s Dirt 2 would be great to put an end to this benchmarking test because then you’ll come to know about how this game performs in racing games. Fraps recorded 30+ (without recording) which means the game is neatly playable and 20+ (with recording).

Again, sunlight, shadows, tracks, dust and all those astonishing effects of Dirt 2 looked as alive as they would on a high-range graphics card.

This article is just a transcript of the videos I compiled from YouTube in order to justify my point that ‘Radeon HD 5470 can definitely hold every game that you want to play’. You must watch these videos to fill up your appetite and loosen your confusions completely. Click here to visit the page.

That’s great to know. I am having a great time with this graphics card too. It’s powerful enough to handle every game. However, I still can’t play high-end games at top settings.
