Nice photographs of really beautiful places in Europe.
This is a small collection of photographs I've found while surfing the Internet. They show beautiful places that seem almost magical. Just looking at them puts a smile on my face, so I thought it'd be nice to share them. I'll also make posts about the other continents soon.
1. Foxley Wood
A gorgeous ancient woodland in Norfolk, England. It's believed that the wood is over six thousand years old. It's known for, among other things, the Bluebell flowers that grow in it.

2. Château de Chenonceau
An exquisite castle built on the river Cher in France. The castle and the water that surrounds it look like they naturally belong together. Note how beautifully the water reflects the architecture.

3. Saint Vitus' Cathedral
It's located in Prague in the Czech Republic and it's a beautiful representative of Gothic architecture. It's nothing short of masterpiece and it inspired many other cathedrals in Europe.

4. Monet's Garden
Monet's garden at Givenry, France, looks like it's taken out of a fairy tale. Claude Monet had a great passion for nature and gardens and he himself designed his own garden, which he later enjoyed painting.

5. Wieliczka Salt Mine
Located in Poland, in the town of Wieliczka, this salt mine is a great place to visit. It features beautiful underground lakes, as well as corridors and caves filled with salt rock sculptures and ornaments.

6. Mont Saint-Michel
It's a tidal island located in Normandy, France. A huge portion of this unique island is occupied by an abbey and a church. A bridge connects Mont Saint-Michel to the mainland.

7. Plitvice Lakes
Located in Croatia, the Plitvice Lakes are among the most beautiful places in Europe. The lakes are a stunning combination of blue, green, turquoise, and azure colors.

8. Iceland
This island country is full of amazing sights. Its landscapes are extremely diverse and beautiful. The island is especially known for its active volcanoes.

9. Bourtange
It's a star-shaped village in the Netherlands that used to be a fort and now serves mostly as an open-air museum. It contains centuries-old houses, drawbridges, and windmills.

10. Neuschwanstein Castle
It's located in Bavaria, Germany. If you think it looks kind of like a Disney castle, then it's probably because the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland was actually inspired by it.

Obviously, these aren't the only beautiful places in Europe. But they're certainly pleasing to the eye and they all have something special about them.

It’s true, Europe, just like Asia, has a very ich history. And there are so many beautiful places here. I’ll make posts about the Americas and the other continents too when I have the time since I believe every continent has something nice to offer.
Wow nice collection of pictures, well done. I went to Europe in the summer of 1990, and I plan on going again soon. There is so much history there. I am from Canada and here the history isn’t quite as rich as it is in Europe; so I can really appreciate and respect Europe’s history and culture. I Thank you for spending the time and effort in putting this article together Devy, Great Job!
