Jun 10th, 2010 by Karl Zoleta

In layman’s term it’s your diary or journal online. A typical blog combines text, images, videos, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic

First of all what is a blog? “the term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger on 17 December 1997. The short form, "blog," was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word weblog into the phrase we blog in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May 1999”.

In layman’s term it’s your diary or journal online. A typical blog combines text, images, videos, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic Here you can write about anything it can be personal about your travel and adventures, daily life activities or some random thoughts.

Some use blogs as a platform for advocacies. In the business world blogs can be used as a channel for press releases and a way to interact with its consumers.

Picking a Topic It is very important to pick a topic before creating a blog. Having a topic in mind you can choose a perfect blog title and blog url (blog address). If its personal it's ok to use your name ex. John.blogspot.com but if your going to blog about basketball its better to register basketball.blogspot.com.

The blog is one of the most ubiquitous and misunderstood methods of communication around.  I am constantly amazed.
