The world’s biggest bungee swing is at one of the stadiums of the South Africa world cup 2010, which is also the only swing over a stadium. A bungee swing is different from a bungee jump.
It is the ‘Big Rush Big Swing’, located at the Moses Mabhida stadium, Durban, South Africa. This is the world’s only stadium swing and the largest swing of any kind anywhere. You will jump from 106 meters above the world cup football pitch and swing out in a huge 220 meter arc under the iconic arch. All equipment and instruction is provided by our qualified staff. It is a free fall for the first five seconds or so and then 'a Big Rush'.
The concept of bungee swinging is different from bungee jumping. Bungee swinging is to swing from one bridge (or platform), to which the rope is attached, under another, like a pendulum. Bungee jumping is a drop straight down. Your fall is slowed by the bungee cords before you reach the bottom.
There is no age limit and they have jumped clients as young as 8 years and as old as 75. Comfortable walking shoes must be worn because you will have to walk to the top of the arch. Swing Clients have the added bonus of walking up the arch from where they can stop and admire the spectacular views of Durban and the Indian Ocean. A viewing area is set aside within the stadium for family and friends to watch their relations jump from the platform.

Even though the jumpers use safety harness there is a wide spectrum of possible injuries during a jump. One can be injured during a jump if the safety harness fails, the cord elasticity is miscalculated, or the cord is not properly connected to the jump platform. In most cases this is a result of human error in the form of mishandled harness preparation. Another major injury is if the jumper experiences cord entanglement with their own body.
