Comforting Cocktails

Sometimes there are tastes that comfort you like apple pie, jam doughnuts and peanut butter and jam sandwiches.   Can you believe that there are drinks that taste just like comfort food?

The PBJ has been a staple part of the American diet for years, before making its way into homes all over the globe and now we can introduce the Peanut Butter & Jelly Martini.

PB & J Martini

1½ shots raspberry vodka

1 shot Frangelico

2 shots cranberry juice

Place all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.   Strain into a cocktail glass to serve.

Growing up trifle was a Sunday treat and definitely one of my comfort foods, now I can enjoy the flavor even when I’m out partying!

Trifle Martini

2½ shots blackcurrant vodka

2 shots Drambuie

½ shot Chambord

Place all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.   Strain into a cocktail glass to serve.

As for the old jam doughnut, this reminds me of walking home from school past the bakers and waiting for 5 or 10 minutes until they were half price (after 4)!

½ shot Chambord

½ shot Baileys

Take a shot glass, moisten the rim and place in sugar.   Next put the Chambord in the glass and carefully layer the Baileys on top.   This is absolutely delicious.

Another childhood favorite of mine is apple pie, I don’t care if it’s hot or cold or whether it’s served with ice-cream, cream or custard as long as it’s served!   The apple pie shooter is a drink that tastes just like apple pie.

Apple Pie Shooter

½ shot Green Sour Puss

½ shot Butter Ripple Schnapps

Pour the two ingredients into a shot glass and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
