According to the Energy Trust of Oregon, Inc. website, they offer cash incentives for residential solar electric systems of up to $10,000. Energy Trust incentives, combined with Oregon state and federal tax credits, can cover up to 75 percent of the total cost of a solar electric system. Their website is located at:

In addition, there are cash incentives for solar water heating systems:

  • Homeowners:  up to $1,500 (incentives vary by system and average $1,000 for customers with electric water heaters and $500 for those using gas water heaters.
  • Businesses: up to 35 percent of installation cost
