Living life to it's fullest is such a great way to have a wonderful life. Being a very shy person deprives one's chance to enjoy life. This article suggests ways on how to beat shyness and have a colourful life ahead.
Are you a shy person? If yes, what do you think is the reason of this shyness? According to Medical Dictionary, the thing that is responsible for shyness of a person is the amygdala. It is the part of the brain related to emotions and new situations. It is the one that evaluates new situations based on past experiences. If the new situation is threatening, the amygdala will send a warning signal. The amygdala in a shy person is extremely sensitive and more active compare to the amygdala of an outgoing person.
Some psychologists concluded a theory that shy people are braggart and full of pride because they don't want to be ridiculed. They don't want to be the center of attraction in which everyone looks at them like a sort of laughing stuff. You may react to this theory but it is true in some cases. Shyness, as a behaviour, may have sprung from bad experience.
We may not find some cure for this but there are some ways to overcome it.
1. Make a name for yourself.
Establish a character. Discover your strength and weaknesses. Develop your strengths and overcome your weaknesses. Do some things because you want it to do and not because others told you to do so.
2.Express yourself.
We cannot share everything with other people. Writing these things down can ease your fears. Feel free to write every thoughts, ideas and experiences. This will help you know more about yourself.
3. Join different clubs or organizations
Look for organized groups or clubs which is fitted with your talents and interests. This will help you develop more the talent you already have and the talent you don't know you have. This have been proven to be very effective because this makes them get out of their hidden comfort zones.
4. Expand your circle of friends.
Getting acquainted with others and making friends with them will develop your confidence and overcome your fears. This will make you feel that you can have someone to lean or depend on when you need a company. Try to listen to your friends and let them come into your life.
5. Be true to yourself and take small steps.
Great things start from small beginnings. Stop worrying about others impression on you. If you are always conscious with others and always listen on what they say on you, you are depriving yourself a chance to overcome your shyness. Don't let yourself be intimidated. The first thing you should do is to give yourself a chance to break from your fears. By taking small steps you can surely handle properly your shyness.
