Constipation is a symptom not an illness. This is a misconception that a lot of people believe in.

Constipation is a symptom and not a disease or an illness that an individual feels, which  bowel movement frequency is even lower than two times a week.  Most of the time, bowel as a result of constipation is hardened, dry, in small bits and is difficult to release.  Constipated individuals are in pain and difficulty in each bowel movement.

Almost all of us suffer from constipation a few times in our lives and unhealthy diet is oftentimes the culprit.  Most constipationconditions are temporary and not really a serious problem.

A thorough understanding of the reasons, the ways to avoid experiencing it, and the right treatment can help including the following:

1.  Consume fiber .  Individuals who do not get enough fiber in their diet  will most likely experience constipation.  While those who consume high-fiber diets can avoid the symptoms.Fruits like mangoes, pineapples and many more, vegetables, and wole grains are excellent examples of fiber.

2.  Do not hold bowel movement. As soon as one feels stomajcj pain, as signal that it's time to move the bowels, go to the comfort room immediately.  If the bowel movement process is delayed, the intestines suck much water from the bowel that makes the movement difficult.

3.  Avoid cooking the food thoroughly. Overcooking vegetables looses the natural fibers making bowel movement difficult.

4.  Eat yogurt. Yogurt contains a unique beneficial bacteria strain that is proven to make the intestines function well from 21% to 40%.

5.  Eat raisin .  Raisins and prunes contain hydrxyphenylisatin, a compound that aids the muscle for easy bowel movement.

6.  Drink lots of water.  Drinking six (6) or more glasse of water everyday will prevent constipation up to half the chances of having it.
