Drinks that use Tequila other than Tequila Slammers, Margaritas and Tequila Sunrises, there are actually quite a few.

When most people think of tequila they think of shots or http://www.squidoo.com/margarita_time Margaritas, some may even think of Tequila Sunrises.   There are actually a lot more ways of enjoying tequila.   Here are a few other tequila cocktails.

Tequila Fanny Banger

1 shot tequila

1 shot vodka

1 shot Midori

1 dash triple sec

1 dash freshly squeezed lime juice

Put all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.   Strain into a cocktail glass to serve – delicious!

There is also one called Death which is actually a shot or shooter rather than a cocktail.

Death

1 part tequila

1 part Opal Nera

Put the Opal Nera in a shot glass and layer the tequila on the top.   This has a really interesting flavor which I think beats the old tequila slammers by a mile.

Another tequila cocktail is the Freddy Fuddpucker, this is a long cocktail so it’s a great idea if you are in for a long night and do not want to drink too much alcohol.

Freddy Fuddpucker

1 part tequila

1 part Galliano

6 parts orange juice

ice

Put ice in a high ball glass and then add the ingredients in the above order.   Serve with a straw or swizzle stick so that the person drinking it can stir the drink in.

For a delicious shooter that looks sensational as well you cannot go past the Mind Bender.

Mind Bender

1 part tequila

1 part banana liqueur

1 part Blue Curacao

This shooter has to be layered so get a large shot glass or small liqueur glass and pour in the Blue Curacao.   The next step is to gently layer the banana liqueur on top of the Blue Curacao.   The tequila is layered onto the top.   The result is visually stunning and the banana liqueur combined with tequila is addictive.

If you have any of the Mexican spirit called tequila in your house then I hope you now have a few more ideas on ways to use it.
