Cbox has been popularly used by many bloggers and site owners due to its customizable features and user-friendly accessibilty. One of its popular features are the use of smiley emoticons wherein users can customize according to their own preferences.

Here are the basic steps and guides on how to customize your cbox smiley emoticons:

Step 1: Log-in with your cbox username and password. If you don't have one yet, you can create an account just by going to http://www.cbox.ws . Registration is free.

Step 2: On your account panel (Right Upper Portion), go to Options --> Smieys. This will direct you to your Default Emoticons Panel. See image below:

Step 3: On your Default Emoticons Panel, you will see your list of default emoticons or the smileys you currently have. Scroll down to the last row. Notice it's empty. It's where you will put your desired customized emoticon or smiley icon. You can edit your emoticons by adding the Direct Link Image URL (Ex. http://tinypic.com/smiley.gif). Then assign the keyboard code (Ex. :x smirk) and the alternate code (Ex. :X ).See image below:

Step 4: If you want to add more emoticons, just click the "New Row" button and repeat Step 3.

Once done, click the SAVE button. Then preview your smiley icons in your cbox. You will then see that your new smileys or emoticons has been added in the Smilies Menu.

Reminders:

  • The Direct Link URL of your smiley or emoticon image should be in .jpg, .gif, .png formats.
  • Suggested Sizes of Emoticon images are in 15x15 pixels. You can still upload larger images though this will take up spaces in your cbox and you will have to adjust the font sizes as well. This will create a more "balanced look" in your cbox.

Smileys can be found easily online. You can edit them on your own or get them in certain blogs and sites that provides free smileys and emoticons such as www.myemoticons.com.
