The Bible tells you what heaven looks like.  In a Dream that John had an Angel appeared to him and showed him many things.  Among those things that he showed him was Heaven a New Jesuralm.  According to the book of Revelation its going to be so beautiful.

The Apostle John is the author of the Book of Revelation. He wrote it when he was about 92 years old, while a prisoner of Rome on the remote desert penal colony of Patmos, an island in the Aegean Sea.

Patmos was a quarry mine for the Roman Empire, and was home to many political and religious prisoners or slaves. John, the beloved apostle of Jesus, was being held as a prisoner of Rome on this island for his incessant preaching about Jesus. Rome believed that banishing the old man John to the remote and forsaken island of Patmos, that his voice would be quieted. John was aged in years, and close to the end of his life, probably sent to Patmos in the year 95 by the Roman emperor Domitian, who was reportedly angry at the fact that John was not killed when he was dipped in boiling oil. Since John was a contemporary of Jesus, John would have been by that time, well over 90 years old - making him very likely the only apostle to survive to such an old age. The rest of Jesus apostles and disciples were martyred decades earlier. It was as if God supernaturally preserved John to bare record of The Revelation!

The picture below is Petomas, Greese where John was held captive.

John's love for Jesus was so strong, that he continued to defy the Roman magistrate's order to no longer proclaim Jesus as Messiah, Savior and Lord; even while a prisoner. On Patmos, John was thrown in with violent criminals, but simply won many of the criminals to faith in Jesus.

It was on Patmos that John wrote down in a scroll all that "he saw and heard". John's sworn testimony about how he received the messages is given in the first chapter.  Saint John, to escape the heat of the day, remained in the cave where he said Mass. It was here that one day the Lord came to Saint John in a vision. When Saint John awoke, he dictated his revelation to his scribe.  It begins with this assurance:

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:1-3

In the book of Revelation John talks about seeing a New Jerusalem and a new earth, That is what this post is about.

God let John see in a Vision the new Jerusalem, Zion or Heaven.

Why? I think so that people would know that it was a real place. John loved God with all of us heart. I imagine that John put God above anything else. God just wants our love but more than that he wants us to believe in him. When we say things or do things that are not appealing to him it hurts. But he does not force himself on anyone. He gave us all free will So that we can choose to follow him and love him.

John states that he saw the Holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, Prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

He hard a loud voice from the throne saying, Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people and God himself will be with them and be their God. He wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Rev. 21 : 3, 4

He seen someone sitting on a Throne and that person stated “I am making everything new!”

Then he told John to write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.

He said to John,

I am the Alpha and the Omega, “The Beginning and the End. To Him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this and I will be his God and he will be my Son. But the cowardly the unbelieving the vile the murders the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. Rev. 21 : 5 - 8

There were seven angels in Johns Vision holding seven bowls full of the last plagues. One of the Angels came up to John in his Vision and said “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the lamb.

Then the Angel carried John away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high and showed John the holy city. He says it was shown with the glory of God, its brillance was like of a very precous jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great high wall with twelve angels at the gates On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribles of Israel.

There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west..

The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on there were the names of twelve apostles of the Lamb.

The angel who talked with John had a measuring rod of Pure gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls.

The city was laid out like a square as long as it was wide. He measured the City with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length and as wide and high as it was long.

Stadia - is an acre.

So Zion or New Jerusalam or Heaven is 12,000 acres long and 12,000 acres Wide and 12,000 acres High.

He measured the wall and it was 144 cubits thick, by mans measurement, which the angel was using.

A Cubit is about 17 to 22 in. long. From the tip of the middle finger to the elbow.

The wall was made of Jasper, Which is like Crystall so clear you can see through it.

The wall was also made from Pure God, as pure as Glass.

So the Walls of heaven are so clear you can see through them.

The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious Stone. The First foundation being Jasper, the Secound Saphire, the third chalcedony., the forth Emerald, The fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysalides, the eighth beryl, The ninth was topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh was jacinth, the twelth was amethyst.

Jasper - Jasper is known as the Egyptian Pebble and is brownish yellow color

Sapphire- Blue Transparent Variety of Corundum

Chalcedony - Variety of Quartz Usally having a Whitish Color and a Luster of Wax.

Emerald - Rich Green Color

Sardonyx - Sard and White in alternating colors

Beryl - green or bluish green color, but also yellow, pink, and white.

Topaz - yellowish and pellucid, also colorless, and of greenesh, bluish, or brownish shades.

Chrysoprase - An Apple Green Color

acinth - A red variety of zircon

Amethyst - a purple or bluish violet color

Their were twelve gates each gate was made out of a single pearl. The city street was made from pure gold Like transparent glass.

 Pearl -

John says he did not see a Temple in the city because the Lord God Almighty and the lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, nad the Lamb is its lamp.

The nations will walk by its light and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever shut for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will brought into Nothing impure will ever enter nor will anyone who what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose name are written in the Lambs book of life.

Then the angel showed John the river of life, it was clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamn will be in the city, and his servents wil lserve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun. For The Lord will give them light. then they will reign for ever and ever.

As beautiful and breath-taking as Heaven will be, it will not compare to the beauty of my Savior! A very good article, and I loved the photos, too. It helps to see with my own eyes what you were talking about.—- I can tell you love reading the Revelation of Jesus Christ! Good job, friend!
