Save your money and do something free that your significant other will cherish. These are great ideas and being thoughtful is always free!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and for most people spending the extra money is not an option. Valentine's Day usually ends up being a stressful time for a lot of people who end up running around to find that perfect gift and endlessly hunt for the overpriced trendy restaurant.

This year, why not do something thoughtful and sweet for your significant other that is also free? Save yourself some time and hassle with these ideas.

  • Create coupons with your computer and printer. Some ideas for these can be for a free massage or a free candlelit dinner cooked by you. Who would not want that?
  • Invite your sweetie over for a home-cooked dinner cooked by the best chef in town...YOU.
  • If you have kids, offer to watch the kids so your wife or husband, whoever is with the kids the most, can have a couple of "free" hours" to themselves. Nothing is more prescious then just a few hours of me time.
  • Surprise them at home with some special home-baked treats such as chocolates or whatever their favorite sweet treat is. Nothing says love like some unexpected fudge brownies or pie hand-delivered by you.
  • Give an hour of your time to your significant other and agree to participate in one of their hobbies or interests that you would normally complain about having to do. Show them you care about their interests by spending that hour not complaining, but by being actively involved. You never know, you may get a new hobby.
  • Surprise your significant other by cleaning the house and having dinner ready when they get home for Valentines' Day. I can promise you that would be greatly appreciated.
  • Go through your old pictures you have taken together and old momentos and make a scrapbook. Present this keepsake scrapbook as a gift.
  • Last but not least, if you have kids see if you can get a family member to watch the kids for a few hours and just spend some quality time with your significant other. A lot of times we are so busy with life, just a few hours together can bring that loving feeling back.

It bothers me that if someone gives your article a one star, they should at least give a comment as to what they felt was wrong about it. If you are willing to vote so low, please advise what the issue was and back up your vote. Thanks.
